At Skach we always look for a better, more efficient way of manufacturing parts whether it is currently being machined, cold formed, or on the drawing board. We can do it right, on time, and for less cost. We offer expert design assistance, combining parts when possible to reduce assembly costs.

WHAT IS COLD FORMING?

In a nutshell: Wire is drawn into a header, cut to a specific length and then pushed into a die to form the part. That's the essence of clod forming.

Advantages: The advantages are limited material waste, high production rates and improved strength. Cold forming is not limited to just one die for forming a part. In complex parts more than one die is needed to form the finished parts.

What we can do? Skach has heading equipment from single die to four stations (four dies.). We can also blank a part using cold forming and finish the part using secondary operations.

Can your part be cold formed? When a new part is designed how do you know if cold forming can produce the part? We can assist you by determining how the material flows, how much material can be moved with compromising the metal and what specification can be maintained.
